Address common concerns to reduce hesitation and provide clarity.

Your pet must travel as manifest cargo if they are arriving by air.

Can I bring my pet as checked baggage to the UK?

Yes your pet must arrive within 5 days before or five days after you arrive to be considered a personal move.

Can I arrive before my pet?

Your pet may need to do the RNATT (rabies neutralising antibody test) if it arrives from an unlisted country.

Does my pet need any additional testing to enter the UK?

All pets entering the UK must be microchipped. The microchip needs to be registered with your current contact information and implanted after the rabies vaccination.

If you follow the import rules correctly, your pet will not need to quarantine. If you fail to meet the requirements, mandatory quarantine may be implemented for up to 4 months in a licensed facility in the UK. Pet owners bear this cost.

Is there quarantine for my pet?
